No one could have ever prepared me for the new found independence Ava has discovered over this past week. I've truly been blown out of the water. Its a little hard for me to be honest. She is all over the place and is so busy! She never wants me to hold her anymore.. Just when.. and only when.. she needs mommy cuddles. I can't even hold her bottle for her anymore. I always said.. "I can't wait until she hold her own bottles!" Secretly.. I am going to miss that. I do get to hold them for her for the last bottle of the day when she's going to bed. So I am going to hold onto that for as long as I can! I can't believe how fast she's growing up. Before I know it, shes going to be one!

She has started to feed herself a little bit this week. I'm still feeding her baby food of course, but we're moving onto to more and more finger foods. She's still trying to get the finger and thumb thing down so she still needs some help! I think her absolute favorite thing in the world to eat is peas! And its just makes her daddy cringe! Poor guy.. Daddy doesn't like anything green and his baby loves it all! I'm happy I don't have a picky eater...at least as of yet!

Ava has been quite the little.. booger.. this week getting into things she isn't supposed to! We had to invest in a baby gate to keep her out of the kitchen because that's her favorite place. (which is my fault because I've let her play in the kitchen and with kitchen utensils since the day she figured out what playing was!) I found her in a little bag of trash on Monday.. It just had empty water bottles and dryer sheets in it but she thought it looked fun and was for her to play in. She was super mad that I took it away from her and had a little girl fit... Which I am sure is just one of.. millions. We have to keep all doors to rooms closed now otherwise she she is trying to climb on everything. So pretty much she has kept us on our toes this week and its only Wednesday!!

Things are pretty much the same around here with Jason and I. We are sure ready for the spring and summer! I can't wait to take Ava outside to play and we are all excited for the camping season to start! Anyways... hope you are all doing well!

A Valentine's Treat from Ava..

Ava started to crawl yesterday!! She finally got the hang of it and now she's everywhere! Here is a short cute little video for Gma and Grammy in Michigan.. (and of course everyone else who doesn't live around us! Hope you all had a great Valentine's Day!!

What a crazy couple of weeks we have had here!! Each one of us Murphy's have been SICK!! I can finally say that we are all on the mend. I am much better after battling the nasty flu, Ava's nose isn't the boogery mess it has been and Jason is getting over a cold that knocked him on his butt for the past couple days! I don't know whats worse half the time, sick men or sick baby's... HUMM...

Other than being sick not to much else is going on around here. Ava and I went to a couple super bowl party's last weekend, and hung out with Erin and Addy this past weekend. Its always fun to get our girls together. We are sure going to have our hands full this summer!!

Ava's second tooth has finally cut through thank goodness and she's back to sleeping through the night again! woohoo for mommy! She has started to "climb" on us when were playing on the floor with her and LOVES to stand against the couch. She likes to play big girl. Still not crawling yet, she's close and gets really....well....pissed that she can't do it. Someone sure has the Murphy attitude!!!

Well that's all for now friends.. Hope all you Illinois-ians are enjoying this beautiful weather because I know I am. And for our Michiganders... I'm glad the snow is melting for you. Oh, and we will also be up for a long weekend in March so we hope to see everyone. (well...the one's we really want to see at least!!! )

Where did...

The past 7 months go???


Today Ava turned 7 months old! I can' t believe how fast time flys! Its truly unbelievable all the things she does now. She is one busy busy girl! She barely wants to be held anymore! Its so true when people tell you they grow up so fast.. I am a little sad about it..

She is almost crawling. Yesterday, she did crawl for about 5 seconds and I was so excited I couldn't even say anything! She's scooting around everywhere and keeping me on my toes that's for sure! I need a baby gate to keep her little sneaky butt out of the kitchen!!

She has a tooth! She cut her first one a couple weeks ago and the 2nd one is in the process of cutting now. Needless to say, she is a little monster baby. I can't wait till this tooth is all the way cut because I'm sure it just hurts the poor thing!

This morning she had her first taste of french toast. She just loved it. It was so funny...she was banging on the tray.. silly girl. She still hasn't picked up food to put it in her mouth yet, but we are working on that. Also going to start working on a sippy cup more. She can use one she just gets mad when she can't figure it out right away! (she gets that from her momma) No patience what so ever.

Anyways, just wanted to share a bit with everyone. I hope you all are doing well and are thinking SPRING!!
